Rod Alan (aka Smash) is originally from California. Now he lives in Florida, by way of Texas and South Carolina. A UC graduate (1982), semi-pro soccer and baseball player (1982-1994), player coach, little league coach;  (series 7 ) stock broker and licensed in commodities (series 3)(1982-1986), a corporate founder & CEO (1985 to present). A Branding & Merchandise Expert, as well as designer.   An E-tailer (1997-2021). A Merchandise developer to the Rock & Roll industry (1986-1993), having worked with/for some of the biggest R&R names and bands of all time.

 

Fund Raising Event specialist to some to the largest charities  (and participant based sporting events) the USA, including Running, Cycling, Bi & Triathlons & Volleyball. Real Estate Developer. Residential & Hotel property owner. World Traveler. Restaurant & Bar owner/operator. Author, Content creator, Podcaster and Talent. Avid reader (1 book per week). SMASH was semi-retired, living in Miami. Until the podcast & streaming world came alive.

SMASH was born poor, at 4 his parents divorced, his mother remarried when he was 5. His brother was born 1 year later when SMASH was 6. SMASH loved sharing his time and knowledge with his younger brother, from school to sports. Poor community, Separated Parents, Poor Parents. Overbearing (some may say abusive) Step Father (X-military & former teacher) forced SMASH to work the day he became the lead of the family.

Overweight red headed freckled face (unwanted) step child ...How ironic that all that SMASH had to overcome became his greatest strengths as life marched on. SMASH got in shape, got educated, learned to fight, make money,

Many believe character can only be  be uncovered, SMASH believes it can also be built.

Who are you when no one else is looking?

Are you Disciplined, Great Effort, Perseverance, Sacrifice. You will be when you learn to SMASH. These are the tools and weapons one needs to attain, strengthen and sharpen in the jungle and in the street. Often you will find it is easier to move forward when you are not fearful of what may happen along the path. That is the SMASH mindset.

SMASH has been jumped many times, once by 6 Girls in 6th Grade. Once be 4 guys in Mexico, Once by 5 guys in the Philipines. Martial Arts was his way out, physically and his victimhood mindset.

SMASH was an overweight child. Healthy food was not a thing in the early 60's, and Mom worked so SMASH raided the fridge after school (to medicate himself) often and not in moderation. SMASH

SMASH endured a path similar to the fable of Cinderella, only in his case, the evil mother was an evil step father with an un-protective biological mother. In those days, young boys were not protected by society in any way.

 

lawn care, painting, roof repair, insulation installation, laying flagstone, taking care of a dog (if you know what I mean).

SMASH lived near the Mexico Border.....

9 BOYS on the same street, very territorial.

HS was Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll ....

​

HS Job, Full Service Gas Station Attendant, Car Dealership Lot Attendant, Restaurant Bus Boy. $1.10 was the minimum wage at that time.

SMASH got a taste of travel....

 

SMASH learned to speak spanish pretty well, including 2 years in Jr High School.

​

SMASH escaped thru sports, riding his mini bike, playing basketball, football, soccer & kick the can.

​

SMASH learned to surf & ski at 15, great escapes for the mind and many more values....

​

SMASH got his motorcycled use (freedom) permit at 15  1/2  and never looked back.

​

SMASH later lived in a beautiful (weekend at Bernies style) beach home for 20 years in Socal.

​

SMASH learned 1 lesson young, SMASH LIFE or LIFE SMASHES YOU!!

​

SMASH IS NOW IN HIS 60's.  5 days per week (at first light) jumps out bed, looking forward to the day, does 240 Push-ups (40x6), 180 Deep Squats (60x3), 4.5 minutes of Planks (2;15 x 2)  and 3 Minutes (3x1) in a Horse Stance (before coffee). SMASH LOVES LIFE!!

​

His Family consists of 1 bother, 1 sister, 2 nephews. All are SMASHING LIFE !!

​

SMASH love had to be learned, it was not given unconditionally or without cost in his family, or community.

​

SMASH had a few best friends, who played a big part in his growth. He maintains those friends to this day.

Of his 5 best friends, 4 of 5 were from 2 parent households, all married, never divorced, great examples of men.

GOD...SMASH believes that to believe in GOD is a bonus in life with no downside. Also, no coincidence that man's best friend is a dog, god spelled backwards. Choose your God (watch you worship) wisely as it can make you and it can destroy you.

are all counterproductive. SMASH does not believe in working against himself, or his vessel?

SELF CARE The difference between narcissism and self care. Self Care is a strong foundation and solid frame, from which you can build. Narcissism is a tool for preservation, and not a building block. The lion may argue that if one does not survive and  thrive, then one can not pro-create and will likely go extinct. So it it is neccassry that narcissism is natural and necessary part of evolution.

COMEDY IS HEALTHY, SARCASM IS A WEAPON...

 

WE ARE A ZERO (at 20) ...SMASH believes that we are like sponges up until the age of 20 (zero). We accept everything we hear from our parents, older siblings, teachers, politicians, adults, etc that all is true. Then we find out that each has their own motivation and limitations, they only share what is true to them, that which often limits us to the glass ceiling placed upon us by others.

​

SMASH believes that 10 years is a good period of time to reflect and adapt (makes small adjustments) and that every 20 years (one must change/adapt). ...(0-20)(20-40)(40-60)(60-80)(80-100). Every 10 years is more mental, behavioral differences (and thought) . Every 20 years one must expect and plan for physical differences. Society norms & institutions like Marriage are greatly effected by the life expectancy. It was easy to stay married to 1 person many years ago when  one married at 20 and died at 40 (until death do us part). Now with longer life expectancy, we can also expect 2 people to change 3 times over their lifetime (often creating irrecconsiable differences).

MEN vs WOMAN is a social distraction. We were not created to be adversaries, we are intended to be teammates.
